Many youth and adults have challenges managing life skills, transitions, relationships, and personal issues. These challenges can include stress and anxiety, school or employment transitions, difficulties at school or work, difficulties forming or ending relationships, trauma, or PTSD, to name a few.
Youth and adults on the Autism Spectrum face the same challenges but have the unique situation of addressing these challenges through their personal autism lens, abilities, and lifestyle.
An autism informed Registered Psychotherapist can assist a person with autism and, sometimes their family, address these issues and challenges. The Psychotherapist can also be of assistance in accessing community resources, future planning system navigation and decision making.
Youth under 18 who are being funded under the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) can use these funds to access psychotherapy. Youth and adults not receiving OAP funding can access our psychotherapy services through an Employee Assistance Program funded service, through private health insurance or privately.
